Been watching lots of video of Vietnamese electric guitar. I think they’ve modified the guitars by setting the string height really high, with strange high frets, allowing some tone bending utterly unlike that possible with a normal electric guitar. Totally fascinating and alien-sounding. Also: what is with the intermittent woodblock-sounding ‘click’ every 20 seconds or so? It is in all the videos.
